Tocea -a French startup specialized in code analysis- strengthens its equity by Eur 300K

Rennes (France), July 3rd, 2012 – Tocea, a French startup specialized in continuous control of software risk and code quality improvement, has closed a Eur 300K funding round with its partner IT-Translation. This early stage investment will enable the company to accelerate the marketing of Scertify™, Tocea’s innovative software solution dedicated to Software Architects, Project Managers and Developers.

A startup founded by researchers

Founded in 2011 by researchers from IRISA and INRIA (French research institutes in IT technologies), Tocea provides software solutions dedicated to continuous control and reduction of risks related to application development. Located in Rennes (Brittany), the company markets Scertify™, whose unique technology is the result of 14 man-years of research & development in the areas of static code analysis, software security, application architecture and refactoring.

In order to finance its growth plan and to support the execution of its strategy, Tocea has closed a first round of funding from its partner IT-Translation, amounting to 300K euros. Created by INRIA (a french public science and technology institution) and CDC Entreprises, IT-Translation assists innovative companies stemming from the research sector.

Fundraising to boost value creation

This first round will allow Tocea to:

• Execute a global and ambitious Sales & Marketing strategy, recently demonstrated by a new website (tocea.com) and the launch of TechDebt.org, an open source project on Technical Debt
• Continue building a management team with people who have strong experience of the ISV market, such as Vincent RUELLAND who recently joined Tocea as Deputy General Manager.
