After the integration PMD, Checkstyle, JSLint and Closure Compiler, Scertify™ Professional now integrates 366 coding rules from FindBugs. In this tutorial, learn how to enable and control these coding rules for your Java projects, directly within Eclipse.
How to apply FindBugs’s coding rules in Scertify™ Professional
In order to start analyzing quality of your project with FindBugs’s rules, right-click on your project in the Eclipse’s Project Explorer » Properties » Scertify. Then, in the tab “Repository Selection”, select “FindBugs Rules” in the list and click “OK”.
The activated FindBugs rules can be viewed by clicking on Window -> Preferences -> Scertify -> Rules -> FindBugs Rules, as shown below. You are also able to customize your own repository by unactivating some coding rules or mixing FindBugs rules with other tools (learn how in this tutorial).
As usual, once your project has been analyzed with FindBugs coding rules, Scertify™ opens a dedicated perspective to highlight programming violations. You’re now able to track and eliminate rule violations.
The list of available rules can be viewed at coding.tocea.com, our public repository of coding rules. Feel free to vote for rules that you find the most interesting.
