Orange Business Services
Orange Business Services (OBS) solicited TOCEA for evaluating and correcting errors detected in a previous audit. This one had beforehand established the number and the type of errors to correct.
On the base of this overview, TOCEA proposed a project referring to the JavaDistiller errors correction automatization capability. To assure the success of this refactoring operation, this project was divided up 3 stages: specifications, POC and refactoring.
The refactoring specification stage was led in collaboration between OBS and TOCEA. This stage permitted to configure the TOCEA solution and to elaborate validation processes for the reception of the different deliverables.
The next stage (Proof Of Concept) consisted in realizing a test on a part of the application. This stage permitted TOCEA and OBS to develop the validation prcess of refactoring generated modifications, particularly non-regression tests.
Finally, the whole refactoring was launched. This phase consists in correcting every identified errors.
OBS had to correct almost 20 000 errors. Done in about 3 weeks by TOCEA, this work would have required between 11 to 14 men/month without TOCEA.

VIACCESS
VIACCESS SA is a society specialized in digital pay-TV technology and in multimedia content distribution. VIACCESS SA is known for its solutions in access control systems and digital rights gestion domains for every type of content and services, and for every type of distribution networks (satellite, cable, earthbound, ADSL, FTTH, mobile, etc).
Those solutions have been displayed with success in more than 30 countries in the world, and on more than 80 digital platforms.
Within an externalized development, VIACCESS SA made carry out an intermediary code audit to be sure of the development quality level of its service provider. Referring to this report, the contractor had agreed to correct the problematic points.
VIACCESS SA had expressed the need to verify its application quality in comparison to its coding referral.
Aware of the lack of existing tools, the society has committed TOCEA this referral implementation.
Referring to the TOCEA audit, VIACCESS SA’s contractor rectified the application, considering TOCEA’s recommendations, before the definitive application delivery. This operation having been led before the final application delivery, it permitted to reduce by an important way the qualification charge.
The maintainability has been improved too, which reduces corrective and progressive maintenance future costs.
In addition, this provision of a service permitted TOCEA to preconize development rules improvements.
Finally, VIACCESS SA teams have been increased awareness of the usefulness of the code quality control, via an adapted tools, this at the beginning of the developments.
